Effect of calcium and phosphorus salts on the utilization of iron by anaemic rats.

چکیده
In a previous paper, Chapman & Campbell (1957) reported that the addition of relatively large amounts of bone meal to bread diets low in iron retarded haemoglobin regeneration in anaemic rats. In view of the contradictory reports in the literature, mentioned by these authors, about the effect of calcium and phosphorus on the utilization of iron, it was considered desirable to extend this work to determine what effect other calcium salts might have on the utilization of iron when added to bread diets and also to determine the effect of two sodium phosphates. By so doing it was thought that it might be possible to determine whether the calcium or the phosphate portion of the bone meal had caused interference with the utilization of iron.

Beneficial effect of pollen and/or propolis on the metabolism of iron, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium in rats with nutritional ferropenic anemia.
There has been considerable debate regarding the nutritional benefits of pollen and the propolis produced by bees, although most contributions have lacked scientific soundness. This paper describes the possible beneficial effect of their use in pharmacological products in cases of anemic syndrome. We studied the effect of these two natural products on the digestive utilization of iron, calcium,...

Introduction: The aim of this research was to study the effect of a 6-week supplemented diet on increasing bone density by measuring calcium, phosphorus and bone mineral density (BMD) in male rats. Materials and methods: In this experimental study, 24 Wistar male rats, aged between 15 and 20 days, were selected. The rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: immune system supplement (ISS), ...

ABSTRACT: Mastitis is an inflammatory reaction of the mammary tissue in response to the introduction and multiplication of pathogens and is characterized by increasing somatic cell count (SCC) in milk. The main objective of present study is to assess the probable associations between somatic cell (SC) levels and calcium and phosphorus and ratio of Ca/P in raw milk. Milk samples were collected f...
