A CCG Fragment of Korean
نویسنده
چکیده
Combinatory Categorial Grammar is a lexicalised formalism which is mildly context-sensitive. Recently Set Combinatory Categorial Grammar, a direct descendent of Combinatory Categorial Grammar was proposed to treat local scrambling adequately. In this paper, we briefly sketch Set Combinatory Categorial Grammar analyses of various Korean syntactic phenomena including coordination, extraction and multiple nominative construction.

Morpho-syntactic Modeling of Korean with K-CCG
Korean Combinatory Categorial Grammar(K-CCG) is an extended combinatory categorial formalism that can capture the syntax and interpretation of \relative free" word order in Korean. The approach we develop takes the advantages of CCG ability of type raising and composition along with our previous ECGG1]]2] ability of variable categories and unordered argument modeling for relatively free word or...
متن کاملDependency Trees and the Strong Generative Capacity of CCG
We propose a novel algorithm for extracting dependencies from the derivations of a large fragment of CCG. Unlike earlier proposals, our dependency structures are always tree-shaped. We then use these dependency trees to compare the strong generative capacities of CCG and TAG and obtain surprising results: Both formalisms generate the same languages of derivation trees – but the mechanisms they ...
متن کاملType-inheritance Combinatory Categorial Grammar
In this paper I outline Type-inheritance Combinatory Categorial Grammar (TCCG), an implemented feature structure based CCG fragment of English. TCCG combines the fully lexical nature of CCG with the type-inheritance hierarchies and complex feature structures of Headdriven Phrase Structure Grammars (HPSG). The result is a CCG/HPSG hybrid that combines linguistic generalizations previously only s...
متن کاملA Hidden Contributor to the Korean Miracle: The Korean Credit :union: Movement
Korean credit :::union:::s (CUs) are considered to be a hidden contributor to the “Korean miracle”, characterized by remarkable economic growth and relatively low income inequality. The Korean miracle not only generated wealth in an economically strapped and socially under-privileged people, but also contributed to regional community development and the democratization of Korean society. In...
متن کاملEfficient Parsing for CCGs with Generalized Type-Raised Categories
A type of ‘non-traditional constituents’ motivates an extended class of Combinatory Categorial Grammars, CCGs with Generalized Type-Raised Categories (CCG-GTRC) involving variables. Although the class of standard CCGs is known to be polynomially parsable, unrestricted use of variables can destroy this essential requirement for a practical parser. This paper argues for polynomial parsability of ...
