A short status report on Coulomb dissociation, an indirect method for nuclear astrophysics is given. An analytically solvable approach to study electromagnetic excitation in Be, the archetype of a halo nucleus, is proposed. PACS numbers: 21.10.-k, 25.60.-t, 26.50.tx
