High-risk dialysis: pregnancy in a patient with extended Stanford-B-aneurysm of the aorta and end-stage renal disease.

چکیده
Pregnancy in women with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing dialysis treatment is uncommon but increasingly observed over the last few years [1]. The outcome in pregnancies in dialysed women is greatly influenced by maternal risk factors. During gestation, various risks may appear including the mother’s fluid overload, hypertension, anaemia and an increased risk for fetal and perinatal complications such as neonatal mortality, prematurity and small-for-gestational-age [2,3]. Here, we report on a 40-year-old female patient who developed ESRD due to an extended Stanford-Baneurysm of the aorta 1 year prior to conception. Nonetheless, the child was delivered successfully by caesarian section after 31 weeks of gestation.

Successful Pregnancy in a Chronic Hemodialysis Patient
Pregnancy in end stage renal disease women who are on Hemodialysis has been considered a challenging event for both mother and fetus. Generally, outcomes of pregnancy in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) have been considered to be extremely poor, and pregnancy in this group of patients is rather scarce. The frequency of conception is ranged from 0.3% per year in Belgium to 1.4% per y...
متن کاملAvoidance of Dialysis in an End-Stage Renal Disease Patient Status-post Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Certain benefits are clearly associated with the use of off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) as compared with the on-pump CABG. The superiority is more evident in patients with multiple co morbidities including renal failure. We reviewed the medical records of a 67-year-old male with a past medical history that was significant for multiple cardiovascular diseases and new-onset end-sta...
متن کاملPrevalence of hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and HIV infection among hemodialysis patients in Jenin District (Palestine)
Background and Aims: End-stage renal disease patients treated by hemodialysis (HD) are more susceptible for infection by viral hepatitis and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections. Infection by these viruses is promoted by the characteristic immunological dysfunction that develops in renal failure and interferes with the patient's ability to eliminate these viruses. Prevalence of these v...

متن کاملEvaluation of Oxidative Stress in Blood During Hemodialysis
The number of patients with end-stage renal disease is growing rapidly in Asia. Patients with end stage renal disease failure (ESRD) undergoing long term hemodialysis (HD) are at risk for high oxidative stress. There is paucity of information with regard to oxidative stress during HD. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to evaluate catalase enzyme activity in erythrocytes and the total ...
