4D structure from motion: a computational algorithm

چکیده
A problem of long standing in vision research is the recovery of three-dimensional (3D) structure from two-dimensional (2D) images. Work on structure from motion has focused on the recovery of 3D structure from multiple views of feature points like the vertices of a cube. Recent work on the perception of four-dimensional (4D) structures has prompted us to determine the circumstances under which 4D structure can be recovered from multiple views of feature points projected onto 2D images. We present a computational algorithm to solve this problem under three assumptions: 1 . the correspondence of each feature point over different views is pre-determined; 2. the 4D object undergoes a rigid motion, and 3. the projection from 4D space to 2D images is a orthographic (parallel) one. Four views of five points are required. The algorithm can be generalized to treat the recovery of nD structure from mD views (lmn). We give some results concerning the minimum number of points and views that are required to recover nD structure from mD views by this algorithm.

متن کاملAdaptive search area for fast motion estimation
In this paper a new method for determining the search area for motion estimation algorithm based on block matching is suggested. In the proposed method the search area is adaptively found for each block of a frame. This search area is similar to that of the full search (FS) algorithm but smaller for most blocks of a frame. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is analogous to FS in terms of reg...
متن کاملThe 13th International Meeting on Fully Three-Dimensional Image Reconstruction in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine
Due to the limited number of projections at each phase, the image quality of a four-dimensional cone-beam CT (4D-CBCT) is often degraded, which decreases the accuracy of subsequent motion modeling. Various strategies have been proposed to enhance the image quality of 4D-CBCT. One of the promising methods is the simultaneous motion estimation and image reconstruction (SMEIR) approach. However, o...
متن کامل4D-QSAR analysis and pharmacophore modeling: propoxy methylphenyl oxasiazole derivatives by electron conformatitional-genetic algorithm method
In this 4D-QSAR study, we obtained pharmacophore identification and biological activity prediction for 50 propoxy methylphenyl oxadiazole derivatives by the Electron Conformational Genetic Algorithm approach. In light of the results given in the data obtained from quantum chemical calculations at HF/3-21 G level, the electron conformational matrices of congruity (ECMC) were built by EMRE softwa...
متن کاملMulti-Objective 4D Vehicle Motion Planning in Large Dynamic Environments
This paper presents Multi-Step A* (MSA*), a search algorithm based on A* for multi-objective 4D vehicle motion planning (three spatial and one time dimension). The research is principally motivated by the need for offline and online motion planning for autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). For UAVs operating in large, dynamic and uncertain 4D environments, the motion plan consists of a se...
