چکیده

For k > 1, r 6= 0 and large x, let π 2r (x) denote the number of prime pairs (p, p+2r) with p ≤ x. By the Bateman–Horn conjecture the function π 2r(x) should be asymptotic to (2/k)C k 2rli2(x), with certain specific constants C 2r . Heuristic arguments lead to the conjecture that these constants have mean value one, just like the Hardy–Littlewood constants C2r for prime pairs (p, p + 2r). The conjecture is supported by extensive numerical work.

On quasi-catenary modules

We call a module M , quasi-catenary if for each pair of quasi-prime submodules K and L of M with K L all saturated chains of quasi-prime submodules of M from K to L have a common finite length. We show that any homomorphic image of a quasi-catenary module is quasi-catenary. We prove that if M   is a module with following properties: (i) Every quasi-prime submodule of M has finite quasi-height;...

Genetic Algorithm-based Optimization Procedures to Find the Constants of Johnson-Cook Constitutive Equation

Johnson-Cook constitutive equation is one of the most famous constitutive equations that have ever been developed to model the hot deformation flow curves of different materials. This equation is a predefined model in the traditional finite element codes to describe the material behavior in applications such as simulating the manufacturing processes. In this work, two different genetic algorith...

On the greatest prime factor of p-1 with effective constants

Let p denote a prime. In this article we provide the first published lower bounds for the greatest prime factor of p−1 exceeding (p−1) 1 2 in which the constants are effectively computable. As a result we prove that it is possible to calculate a value x0 such that for every x > x0 there is a p < x with the greatest prime factor of p − 1 exceeding x 3 5 . The novelty of our approach is the avoid...

Existence of positive solutions for fourth-order boundary value problems with three- point boundary conditions

In this work, by employing the Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem, we study the existence of positive solutions of a three-point boundary value problem for the following fourth-order differential equation begin{eqnarray*} left { begin{array}{ll} u^{(4)}(t) -f(t,u(t),u^{prime prime }(t))=0 hspace{1cm} 0 leq t leq 1, & u(0) = u(1)=0, hspace{1cm} alpha u^{prime prime }(0) - beta u^{prime prime pri...
