Pilot Power Allocation for OFDM in DAS
نویسنده
چکیده
In distributed antenna system (DAS), since the distances from the remote antenna units (RAUs) to the mobile are different, the transmitted power of pilot symbol in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) needs to be optimized to provide a reliable channel estimation for the purpose of coherent detection. In this paper, we present a novel pilot power allocation strategy for OFDM in DAS which is developed based on the criterion of minimizing the mean square error (MSE) of channel estimates at pilot subcarrier across the RAUs. The proposed method only needs the information of large-scale fading at transmitter to allocate power, which makes it feasible in practical OFDM DAS systems.

A low complexity dynamic subcarrier and power allocation methodology for downlink communication in an OFDM-based multiuser environment is developed. The problem of maximizing overall capacity with constraints on total power consumption, bit error rate and data rate proportionality among users requiring different QOS specifications is formulated. Assuming perfect knowledge of the instantaneo...

Recently, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been extensively used in communications systems to resist channel impairments in frequency selective channels. OFDM is a multicarrier transmission technology in wireless environment that use a large number of orthogonal subcarriers to transmit information. OFDM is one of the most important blocks in digital video broadcast-terrestr...
متن کاملCapacity of MIMO-OFDM with Pilot-Aided Channel Estimation
An analytical framework is established to dimension the pilot grid for MIMO-OFDM operating in time-variant frequency selective channels. The optimum placement of pilot symbols in terms of overhead and power allocation is identified that maximizes the training-based capacity for MIMO-OFDM schemes without channel knowledge at the transmitter. For pilot-aided channel estimation (PACE) with perfect...
متن کاملOptimization Method of Pilot Allocation for Cooperative Amplify-and-forward Ofdm System
Pilot-assisted channel estimation has been studied only in common cooperative AF (Amplify-and-Forward) OFDM which has no feedback mechanism. In this paper, for cooperative AF-OFDM system, we propose a feedback technique in which the pilot allocation mechanism is adapted to the cooperative mobile channel. Then we show how uniform pilots may no longer be optimal compared with our pilots. After de...
