چکیده

In order to design industrial products fitting well to the human body, it is necessary to make full use of information of human anatomical landmarks. These landmarks however cannot be extracted automatically from point cloud data of human body surface obtained by a 3D scanner. And the coordinate system for the design model cannot be decided by the point cloud itself. Our previous report proposed an automatic detection method of the basic anatomical landmarks (basic landmarks) from the point cloud of a human foot [1]. In the method, two anatomical landmarks used for defining the coordinate system of 3D foot model, MT(metatarsale tibiale) and MF(metatarsale fiburale), are extracted using the multiple regression analysis. Then the coordinate system of the foot model is defined by using these obtained MT and MF. This method is effective in defining the coordinate system of 3D foot model. However the accuracy of estimating MT and MF is not so good. In this paper, we attempt to improve the accuracy by the Free Form Deformation method [2].

Landmark Detection for Unconstrained Face Recognition

In this dissertation a novel method for 3D landmark detection and pose estimation, suitable for both frontal and side 3D facial scans, is presented. It exploits 3D and 2D information by using local shape descriptors to extract candidate interest points that are subsequently identified and labeled as anatomical landmarks. Additionally, a novel generalized framework for combining facial feature d...

Numerical free vibration analysis of higher-order shear deformable beams resting on two-parameter elastic foundation

Free vibration analysis of higher-order shear deformation beam resting on one- and two-parameter elasticfoundation is studied using differential transform method (DTM) as a part of a calculation procedure. First, the governing differential equations of beam are derived in a general form considering the shear-freeboundary conditions (zero shear stress conditions at the top and bottom of a beam). ...

A Quasi-3D Polynomial Shear and Normal Deformation Theory for Laminated Composite, Sandwich, and Functionally Graded Beams

Bending analyses of isotropic, functionally graded, laminated composite, and sandwich beams are carried out using a quasi-3D polynomial shear and normal deformation theory. The most important feature of the proposed theory is that it considers the effects of transverse shear and transverse normal deformations. It accounts for parabolic variations in the strain/stress produced by transverse shea...

A Stochastic Large Deformation Model for Computational Anatomy

In the study of shapes of human organs using computational anatomy, variations are found to arise from inter-subject anatomical differences, disease-specific effects, and measurement noise. This paper introduces a stochastic model for incorporating random variations into the Large Deformation Diffeomorphic Metric Mapping (LDDMM) framework. By accounting for randomness in a particular setup whic...
