Genome Sequence of Fowl Aviadenovirus A Strain JM1/1, Which Caused Gizzard Erosions in Japan

چکیده
This study reports the complete genome sequence of fowl aviadenovirus A strain JM1/1, which caused gizzard erosions in broilers occurring in Japan. The JM1/1 genome is 43,809 bp in length and most closely related to the strain chicken embryo lethal orphan (CELO); moreover, multiple site insertions and deletions were found.

TYPE 1 avian adenoviruses belong to the genus Aviadenovirus within the adenovirus family. Five species of fowl adenovirus (fAdV) (designated by the letters A to E) are recognised within the Aviadenovirus genus based largely on molecular criteria, in particular restriction enzyme fragmentation patterns and sequencing data (McFerran and McConnel Adair 2003). fAdV are common infectious agents in p...

The pathogenicity of a fowl adenovirus serotype-1 (FAdV-1, K181 strain) isolated from a case of gizzard erosion in layer chickens was investigated in specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chicks. One-week-old SPF chicks were inoculated orally or intramuscularly with the isolate of FAdV-1 and euthanized for necropsy at 7, 14, and 21 d postinoculation. Although there were no clinical signs after inoculati...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Fowl Aviadenovirus Serotype 8b Isolated in South America
We present here the complete genome sequence of fowl aviadenovirus E (FAdV-E) serotype 8b strain FV211-16, isolated from chickens with inclusion body hepatitis in Peru. Genome comparisons with other FAdV-E strains revealed identities of 84.9 to 97.1% and the presence of 9 and 2 unique amino acid mutations in hexon and fiber proteins, respectively.
متن کاملInclusion body hepatitis associated with an outbreak of fowl adenovirus type 2 and type 8b in broiler flocks in South Africa.
Inclusion body hepatitis is an acute disease of chickens ascribed to viruses of the genus Aviadenovirus and referred to as fowl adenovirus (FAdV). There are 12 FAdV types (FAdV1to FAdV8a and FAdV8b to FAdV11), classified into five species based on their genotype (designated FAdVA to FAdVE). A total of 218 000 chickens, 2-29 days of age, were affected over a 1-year period, all testing positive b...
متن کاملIsolation, identification and molecular characterization of Inclusion body hepatitis virus
Inclusion body hepatitis caused by avian adenovirus with highly pathogenic strain lead to heavy mortality and unusual lesion like hydropericardium in commercial broilers. Samples were collected from an outbreak in 12000 broiler flock from Andhra Pradesh with sudden high mortality initiated from 32 days of age. Liver was enlarged and showed petechae. Hydropericardium was extensive. 10% liver sus...
