چکیده

ASTRONOMY AND ASTROPHYSICS The birth of strange stars and their dynamo-originated magnetic fields Abstract. It is shown that protostrange stars (PSSs) can be convective and that there are two possible scenarios describing their turbulence. Besides the local turbulence on the scale which is less than the mean free path of neu-trinos, large-scale (∼ 1 km) convection also may occur with properties that are similar to those of convection in protoneutron stars (PNSs). We thus suggest that strange stars can also create dynamo-originated magnetic fields during the deleptonization episode soon after a supernova explosion. Further detailed investigations are needed to see whether or not strange stars and neutron stars can be distinguished according to the differences in dynamo actions in strange quark matter and in neutron matter. The magnetic fields of strange stars and neutron stars may also behave very differently during the accretion-phase when the fields decay.

The Fastest Rotating Pulsar : a Strange Star ?

According to the observational limits on the radius and mass, PSR 1937+21 is probably a strange star, or some neutron star equations of state should be ruled out, if we alternatively suggest that a dipole magnetic field (rather than a quadrupole one) is relevant to its radio emission. In order to find solid evidence to shown that PSR 1937+21 is a strange star, it is strongly suggested to measur...

Birth rates of SGRs and AXPs: delayed amplification of magnetic field

We present new determination of the birth rate of AXPs and SGRS and their associated SNRs. We find a high birth rate of 1/(500 yr) to 1/(1000 yr) for AXPs/SGRs and their associated SNRs. These high rates suggest that all massive stars (greater than ∼ (23-32)M⊙) give rise to remnants with magnetar-like fields. Observations indicate a limited fraction of high magnetic fields in these progenitors ...

Magnetic fields in non-convective regions of stars

We review the current state of knowledge of magnetic fields inside stars, concentrating on recent developments concerning magnetic fields in stably stratified (zones of) stars, leaving out convective dynamo theories and observations of convective envelopes. We include the observational properties of A, B and O-type main-sequence stars, which have radiative envelopes, and the fossil field model ...

Acceleration of Plasma Flows Due to Inverse Dynamo Mechanism

The ”inverse–dynamo” mechanism — the amplification/generation of fast plasma flows by short scale (turbulent) magnetic fields via magneto–fluid coupling is recognized and explored. It is shown that large–scale magnetic fields and flows are generated simultaneously and proportionately from short scale fields and flows. The stronger the short–scale driver, the stronger are the large–scale product...

Stellar magnetic cycles

The solar activity cycle is a manifestation of the hydromagnetic dynamo working inside our star. The detection of activity cycles in solar-like stars and the study of their properties allow us to put the solar dynamo in perspective, investigating how dynamo action depends on stellar parameters and stellar structure. Nevertheless, the lack of spatial resolution and the limited time extension of ...
