چکیده

I n this paper we tackle the problem of magnifying an image without incurring blurring, ringing or other artifacts common to classical schemes. The proposed iterative scheme starts with an initial magnified image generated by a process of selective interpolation. By placing suitable constraints on the final magnified image, which are convex in nature, we show that magnification can be posed as a problem of finding a solution which lies at the intersection of convez sets. By avoiding explicit high frequency enhancing assumptions in the iterative process, we avoid edge enhancement artifacts in the magnified image.

Performance Evaluation of Super-Resolution Reconstruction Algorithms Based On Linear Magnifications

Super Resolution based Reconstruction of images produces a High Resolution (HR) image from multiple Low Resolution (LR) images by estimating the motion parameters and shifts in the LR images. The problem can be divided into two parts: an image registration part in which the motion parameters and shift between different frames of the same scene are estimated and the reconstruction part in which ...

Image reconstruction in circular cone-beam computed tomography by constrained, total-variation minimization.

An iterative algorithm, based on recent work in compressive sensing, is developed for volume image reconstruction from a circular cone-beam scan. The algorithm minimizes the total variation (TV) of the image subject to the constraint that the estimated projection data is within a specified tolerance of the available data and that the values of the volume image are non-negative. The constraints ...

A Novel Method for Brain MRI Super-resolution by Wavelet-based POCS and Adaptive Edge Zoom

This paper aims to make the super-resolution of a high-resolution image from a sequence of low-resolution frames containing non-stationary objects. The challenges of making super-resolution image, like unavoidable smoothing effects, introduction of artifacts, computational efficiency in time and computational efficiency in memory requirements, are considered and a novel method is proposed to so...

Multi-frame Super Resolution for Improving Vehicle Licence Plate Recognition

License plate recognition (LPR) by digital image processing, which is widely used in traffic monitor and control, is one of the most important goals in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). In real ITS, the resolution of input images are not very high since technology challenges and cost of high resolution cameras. However, when the license plate image is taken at low resolution, the license...

POCS-Based Annotation Method Using Kernel PCA for Semantic Image Retrieval

A projection onto convex sets (POCS)-based annotation method for semantic image retrieval is presented in this paper. Utilizing database images previously annotated by keywords, the proposed method estimates unknown semantic features of a query image from its known visual features based on a POCS algorithm, which includes two novel approaches. First, the proposed method semantically assigns dat...
