Understanding Dubious Future Problems

چکیده
Being able to predict the performance of a Case-Based Reasoning(CBR) system against a set of future problems would provide invaluable information for design and maintenance of the system. Thus, we could carry out the needed design changes and maintenance tasks to improve future performance in a proactive fashion. This paper proposes a novel method for identifying regions in a case base where the system gives low confidence solutions to possible future problems. Experimentation is provided for RoboSoccer domain and we argue how encountered regions of dubiosity help us to analyse our case base and the reasoning mechanisms of a CBR system.

Technology, they say, should not drive content. However, when technology is the bottleneck through which instruction must be delivered, then technology, if it does not drive content, most certainly limits content. Today, institutions offering online learning must live with the reality that instructional material must be delivered through narrow pipes to underpowered computers running dubious so...

Fertility problems of mares on a well-managed breeding farm with thoroughbred stallions have been ascribed mostly to contamination of the reproductive apparatus of females with pathogens, particularly those of bacterial origin. This study presents a summary of the frequency of bacterial pathogens isolated from 437 cervical swabs which were collected from English thoroughbred mares intended for ...
متن کاملWill There Be Any Neat Solutions to Small Problems in Cognitive Science?
The question is prompted by Eugene Charniak's (1978) recent editorial introducing the new 'Theoretical Notes' section. The idea of such a section is excellent, but I am dubious about one aspect of it. Charniak writes that one of its functions will indeed be to present neat solutions to small problems. He illustrates the idea with R. McGuire's observation of the difference in the acceptability o...
