Patterns in Information Systems Portfolio Prioritization: Evidence from Decision Tree Induction

چکیده
Some firms adopt dual (IS-conservative-like and IS innovator-like) strategies. The behavior of firms that adopt a dual IS strategy is associated with the following characteristics: they (1) adhere to dual goals with a simultaneous emphasis on efficiency improvements and cautious exploration of new opportunities, (2) adopt a relatively formal decision-making structure, and (3) are inherently risk averse. Dual goals are likely to exert a conflicting influence on the behavior of firms that adopt both IS conservativeand IS innovator-like strategies.

Comparing different stopping criteria for fuzzy decision tree induction through IDFID3
Fuzzy Decision Tree (FDT) classifiers combine decision trees with approximate reasoning offered by fuzzy representation to deal with language and measurement uncertainties. When a FDT induction algorithm utilizes stopping criteria for early stopping of the tree's growth, threshold values of stopping criteria will control the number of nodes. Finding a proper threshold value for a stopping crite...

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women. Mammography remains today the best technology to detect breast cancer, early and efficiently, to distinguish between benign and malignant diseases. Several techniques in image processing and analysis have been developed to address this problem. In this paper, we propose a new solution to the problem of computer aided detection and...

Investor decision making has always been affected by two factors: risk and returns. Considering risk, the investor expects an acceptable return on the investment decision horizon. Accordingly, defining goals and constraints for each investor can have unique prioritization. This paper develops several approaches to multi criteria portfolio optimization. The maximization of stock returns, the pow...

In conventional classrooms, teachers atempt to enhance instruction by monitoring students’ learning processes and analyzing their performances by paper records and observation. Similarly, distance learning systems on the Web should be designed to record students’ behaviors to assist teachers in assessing performance and making decisions related to curriculum. Recent developments in web server s...

This paper will investigate the optimum portfolio for an investor, taking into account 5 criteria. The mean variance model of portfolio optimization that was introduced by Markowitz includes two objective functions; these two criteria, risk and return do not encompass all of the information about investment; information like annual dividends, S&P star ranking and return in later years which is ...
