Explicit trace inequalities for isogeometric analysis and parametric hexahedral finite elements

چکیده
We derive new trace inequalities for NURBS-mapped domains. In addition to Sobolev-type inequalities, we derive discrete trace inequalities for use in NURBS-based isogeometric analysis. All dependencies on shape, size, polynomial order, and the NURBS weighting function are precisely specified in our analysis, and explicit values are provided for all bounding constants appearing in our estimates. As hexahedral finite elements are special cases of NURBS, our results specialize to parametric hexahedral finite elements, and our analysis also generalizes to T-spline-based isogeometric analysis.

On the constants in hp-finite element trace inverse inequalities
We derive inverse trace inequalities for hp-finite elements. Utilizing orthogonal polynomials, we show how to derive explicit expressions for the constants when considering triangular and tetrahedral elements. We also discuss how to generalize this technique to the general d-simplex. 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

This study shows how to create different types of crack and discontinuities by using isogeometric analysis approach (IGA) and extended finite element method (XFEM). In this contribution, two unique features of isogeometric analysis approach are utilized to create discontinuous zones. Discontinuities consist of crack and cohesive zone. In isogeometric analysis method NURBS is used to approximate...

متن کاملBiomechanics simulations using cubic Hermite meshes with extraordinary nodes for isogeometric cardiac modeling
Cubic Hermite hexahedral finite element meshes have some well-known advantages over linear tetrahedral finite element meshes in biomechanical and anatomic modeling using isogeometric analysis. These include faster convergence rates as well as the ability to easily model rule-based anatomic features such as cardiac fiber directions. However, it is not possible to create closed complex objects wi...
