Constitutive Equations for Capillary Tube Modeling

چکیده
This paper presents the results of an experimental study on capillary tubes commonly used as expansion device in household refrigerators and freezers. The experiments were performed with HFC-134a at different condensing pressures and level of subcooling. The pressure and temperature profiles along the capillary tubes were measured in each test run. The data set was then used to evaluate the suitability of some equations previously reported in the literature for the single phase friction factor, the underpressure of vaporization and the entrance contraction loss fact~r. An equation for the average two-phase friction factor was also developed based on the measured data.

A comparative study on constitutive modeling of hot deformation flow curves in AZ91 magnesium alloy
Modeling the flow curves of materials at elevated temperatures is the first step in mathematical simulation of the hot deformation processes of them. In this work a comparative study was provided to examine the capability of three different constitutive equations in modeling the hot deformation flow curves of AZ91 magnesium alloy. For this, the Arrhenius equation with strain dependent constants...
متن کاملGenetic Algorithm-based Optimization Procedures to Find the Constants of Johnson-Cook Constitutive Equation
Johnson-Cook constitutive equation is one of the most famous constitutive equations that have ever been developed to model the hot deformation flow curves of different materials. This equation is a predefined model in the traditional finite element codes to describe the material behavior in applications such as simulating the manufacturing processes. In this work, two different genetic algorith...
متن کاملMODELING THE HOT DEFORMATION FLOW CURVES OF API X65 PIPELINE STEEL USING THE POWER LAW EQUATION
Till now, different constitutive models have been applied to model the hot deformation flow curves of different materials. In this research, the hot deformation flow stress of API X65 pipeline steel was modeled using the power law equation with strain dependent constants. The results was compared with the results of the other previously examined constitutive equations including the Arrhenius eq...
متن کاملModeling of the beam discontinuity with two analyses in strong and weak forms using a torsional spring model
In this paper, a discontinuity in beams whose intensity is adjusted by the spring stiffness factor is modeled using a torsional spring. Adapting two analyses in strong and weak forms for discontinuous beams, the improved governing differential equations and the modified stiffness matrix are derived respectively. In the strong form, two different solution methods have been presented to make an a...
