چکیده

Methods BALB/c mice were nasally sensitized 5 times in biweekly intervals with KLH alone or with KLH in conjunction with acrolein. Airway hyperreactivity was was measured according to change of enhanced pause and KLH-specific anaphylactic reaction was monitored in vivo Levels of specific antibodies as well as cytokine profile of KLH-stimulated splenocytes were analyzed by ELISA. Further, mouse D2F2-tumor cells were grafted to the flanks and tumor growth monitored in mice previously exposed to acrolein or buffer.

Janus-faced Acrolein prevents allergy but accelerates tumor growth by promoting immunoregulatory Foxp3+ cells: Mouse model for passive respiratory exposure

Acrolein, a highly reactive unsaturated aldehyde, is generated in large amounts during smoking and is best known for its genotoxic capacity. Here, we aimed to assess whether acrolein at concentrations relevant for smokers may also exert immunomodulatory effects that could be relevant in allergy or cancer. In a BALB/c allergy model repeated nasal exposure to acrolein abrogated allergen-specific ...

ویژگی ها IgG4 و بیماری های مرتبط با IgG4

Abstract Background: In the serum of healthy people, IgG4 has lowest concentration among the different sub-classes of IgG. Elevation of serum IgG4 in response to chronic antigenic stimulation and inflammation has been reported. Inflammation, histopathologic lesions and systemic organ involvement have been reported in the IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD). In this article we review IgG4 unique f...

Antigen-Specific Antibody Response in Juvenile-Onset SLE Patients Following Routine Immunization with Tetanus Toxoid

Background: Infection is now the most common cause of morbidity in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). There is lack of information regarding the specific antibody forma-tion in response to vaccines in young SLE patients. Objective: To determine the efficacy of anti-tetanus antibody response in young patients with SLE. Methods: Forty SLE pa-tients with mean age of 14.1 years (range: 7-21) and 6...

Immunogenicity of 23-Valent Pneumococcal Vaccine in Children with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease which is characterized by B-cell abnormality and auto-antibody generation. Since bacterial infections are the most important causes of mortality in these patients, pneumococcal vaccination is recommended for children with SLE. Objective: To investigate humoral immunity and specific-antibody formation in response to a...

Interleukin (IL)-33: new therapeutic target for atopic diseases.

Interleukin (IL)-33, a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines, is produced when epithelial and endothelial cells are exposed to stimuli. Hematopoietic cells such as macrophages also produce IL-33. IL-33 is considered to function as an 'alarmin', activating various immune cells through its receptor ST2, which leads to the production of various molecules. The IL-33-induced production of pro-infla...
