I havu lately been in conversation with one or two officers of the I.M.S. occupying important executive appointments on the civil side of the Service. They were well versed in the curative side of the profession and one at least had seen a good deal of active service during the great war and had served in it with credit. The course of conversation led them on to express regrets at the waste of their curative talents during t'he war; to estimate the worth of all officers of the medical services almost entirely by their skill in curative treatment; and to the statement that the majority of officers of the Medical Services in military administrative employ had " ceased to be
