چکیده
Properties of solutions of generic hyperbolic systems with multiple characteristics with diagonalizable principal part are investigated. Solutions are represented as a Picard series with terms in the form of iterated Fourier integral operators. It is shown that this series is an asymptotic expansion with respect to smoothness under quite general geometric conditions. Propagation of singularities and sharp regularity properties of solutions are obtained. Results are applied to establish regularity estimates for scalar weakly hyperbolic equations with involutive characteristics. They are also applied to derive the first and second terms of spectral asymptotics for the corresponding elliptic systems.

Strongly Elliptic Second-Order Systems with Boundary Conditions on a Nonclosed Lipschitz Surface∗
We consider boundary value problems and transmission problems for strongly elliptic second-order systems with boundary conditions on a compact nonclosed Lipschitz surface S with Lipschitz boundary. The main goal is to find conditions for the unique solvability of these problems in the spaces H , the simplest L2-spaces of the Sobolev type, with the use of potential type operators on S . We also ...
متن کاملThe spectral iterative method for Solving Fractional-Order Logistic Equation
In this paper, a new spectral-iterative method is employed to give approximate solutions of fractional logistic differential equation. This approach is based on combination of two different methods, i.e. the iterative method cite{35} and the spectral method. The method reduces the differential equation to systems of linear algebraic equations and then the resulting systems are solved by a numer...
متن کاملComputation of Invariant Tori by the Fourier Methods
In this paper, we study systems of functional equations (FEs) and first-order partial differential equations (PDEs) suggested in [SIAM J. Sci. Statist. Comput., 12 (1991), pp. 607–647 and SIAM J. Numer. Anal., 29 (1992), pp. 1741–1768] as approximations for the computation of invariant tori. The main new ideas of this paper are, first, to investigate these systems in the setting of Hilbert spac...
متن کاملNew Numerical Results for the Surface Quasi-Geostrophic Equation
The question whether classical solutions of the surface quasi-geostrophic (SQG) equation can develop finite-time singularities remains open. This paper presents new numerical computations of the solutions to the SQG equation corresponding to several classes of initial data previously proposed by Constantin et al. (Nonlinearity 7:1495–1533, 1994). By parallelizing the serial pseudo-spectral code...
متن کاملNon Uniform Rational B Spline (NURBS) Based Non-Linear Analysis of Straight Beams with Mixed Formulations
Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed traditionally using conventional finite element basis functions (i.e., cubic Hermite, equi-spaced Lagrange interpolation functions, or spectral/hp Legendre functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, tota...
