Weather and Climate and Animal Production

چکیده
Weather and climate influence both farm animal production and agronomic production. There are many differences, some obvious and some subtle, in the way animals and plants respond directly and indirectly to given environments, however. Chapter 9 focuses principally on the applications of meteorology to agronomic agriculture. This chapter is biometeorologically oriented: it explores the applications of weather and climate information to sustain or improve on-farm animal performance, such as survival, growth, reproduction, and milk and wool production. Management intervention is needed not only to improve the genetic potential of the animals, but also to help overcome the constraints on production set by the climate, the physical environment and the health hazards in a region. On-farm decisions usually involve selection, design and management of production facilities, while the collective impacts may guide regional or national policy, determine responses to potential large-scale changes, or influence other decisions. The case for understanding the implications of regional and local climates affecting those decisions is self-evident, as is the need for timely forecasts to trigger management anticipation and response to adverse conditions. 12.1.1 Background

Mining the Impact of Climate Change on Animal Production
Animal production plays an important role in the economics of any society; so this paper aims to improve animal production by studying the impact of climate change on animal production. A data mining system is constructed to discover the relation between the weather data and bovine diseases. Since, the animal database and weather database are separated; these databases are integrated using the ...
متن کاملImpact of Climate Variability on Cool Weather Crop Yield in Ethiopia
The research examined effect of climate variability on yield of the two dominant cool weather cereals (wheat and barley) in central highland and Arssi grain plough farming systems of Ethiopia using eight round unbalanced panel data (1994-2014). The stochastic frontier model result revealed that production inputs for producing wheat and barley in the two farming system had significant effect. Cr...
متن کاملClimate Changes and Vector-Borne Diseases With an Emphasis on Parasitic Diseases: A Narrative Review
Background and Objectives: The issue of climate change has currently become a critical concern for the global community as it affects the transmission and spread of a wide range of diseases. This study aims to examine the literature and scientific evidence concerning the impact of climate change on vector-borne diseases. Methods: In this review research, a comprehensive search and review of te...
متن کاملStudy of Compatibility of Grape with East-Azerbaijan Climate
One of the major issues of increasing agricultural production, is adaptation of technology to specific climatic variables in cultivated areas. Knowing the weather and climatic condition and periodic yearly and multi-year changes of meteorological phenomena and deviations from normal values are of major requirements of modern agriculture. In this study, daily, monthly and annual weather data o...
متن کاملA Sequential Participatory Approach to Adapt Livestock Systems to Climate Change
Livestock systems are and will increasingly be impacted by climate change primarily because the feed supply produced on the farm (pastures, forage crops) depends greatly on the climatic conditions experienced. To adapt grassland-based livestock systems to climate change, some transformational redesign of the farming system may be required. Redesign is basically a matter of reconfiguring land-us...
