The Virtual Aachen Project

چکیده
The goal of this student project was to create a realistic visualisation of the city of Aachen, based on 2D data available from the land registry office and photographs of the buildings. Therefor several applications were developed to automate the process, including tools for repairing defective 2D data and creating and texturing a 3D mesh, modeling landmark buildings for higher detail and a real-time viewer using advanced rendering effects. Figure 1: Screenshots of the viewer showing the complete, textured mesh.
