چکیده

Immunology has traditionally been concerned with two central topicsimmunity against pathogenic microorganisms and the nature and properties of antibodies. Both of course are, and will remain, immensely important but at the present time there can be little question that the problems of the origin, nature, and behaviour of the "immunologically competent cell" provide the centre of current interest in theoretical immunology. There are five sets of experimental findings that are chiefly responsible for that interest and which lay down the lines on which modern theories of immunity have been developed.

Cellular Automata Simulation of a Bistable Reaction-Diffusion System: Microscopic and Macroscopic Approaches

The Cellular Automata method has been used to simulate the pattern formation of the Schlögl model as a bistable Reaction-Diffusion System. Both microscopic and macroscopic Cellular Automata approaches have been considered and two different methods for obtaining the probabilities in the microscopic approach have been mentioned. The results show the tendency of the system towards the more sta...

Characterization of Immune Responses Induced by Combined Clade-A HIV-1 Recombinant Adenovectors in Mice

Background: Numerous evidences indicate that in some HIV-1 positive patients, the humoral and cellular immune responses are induced against HIV-1 proteins and this is inversely related to the progress of infection. Objective: The aim of this study was the evaluation of the Adenovectors containing HIV genes in induction of immune responses in mice. Methods: The HIV-1 genes including gag p24, rev...

Cellular Rejection*

Delayed or cellular hypersensitivity is the primary immunologic mechanism in the rejection of organ homografts. Mounting evidence implicates the small lymphocyte as the cell responsible for implementing this reaction. The immunologic role of the lymphocyte in the graft-versus-host reaction was first recognized by Simonsen (1957). He showed that if newborn or heavily irradiated mice are injected...

Using Recombinant Chlamydia Major Outer Membrane Protein (MOMP) in ELISA Diagnostic Kit

Chlamydia trachomatis is one of the main causes of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) such as  prostatitis and epididymitis in men and cervicitis, endometriosis, vaginitis and ureogenital tract infections in women.  Serological tests with sensitivities related to specific antigens are commonly used as  routine laboratory tests for diagnosis of Chlamydia. In this research the Chlamydia Major O...
