INTRODUCTION The aim of the present paper is to compare creep behaviour of aluminium-based alloy (2024AA) prepared by an identical technology with and without reinforcement by short alumina fibres and with two different orientations of fibres. The observed behaviour is analyzed in terms of back stresses obtained by threshold stress approach from steady-state data or by the internal stress approach from primary creep data.
