Minimal Length Uncertainty Relation and Ultraviolet Regularisation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Studies in string theory and quantum gravity suggest the existence of a finite lower limit ∆x0 to the possible resolution of distances, at the latest on the scale of the Planck length of 10−35m. Within the framework of the euclidean path integral we explicitly show ultraviolet regularisation in field theory through this short distance structure. Both rotation and translation invariance can be preserved. An example geometry is studied in detail. On Quantum Field Theory with Nonzero Minimal Uncertainties in Positions and Momenta
We continue studies on quantum field theories on noncommutative geometric spaces, focusing on classes of noncommutative geometries which imply ultraviolet and infrared modifications in the form of nonzero minimal uncertainties in positions and momenta. The case of the ultraviolet modified uncertainty relation which has appeared from string theory and quantum gravity is covered. The example of e...

Our aim in this paper is to find the observable effects of the generalized commutators. For this purpose we investigate two problems in quantum mechanics with minimal length procedure. Firstly, we study hydrogen atom energy levels via minimal length uncertainty relation algebra. From comparing our results, with experimental data we estimate an upper limit for minimal length. Secondly, we inve...
متن کاملOn Noncommutative Geometric Regularisation
Studies in string theory and in quantum gravity suggest the existence of a finite lower bound to the possible resolution of lengths which, quantum theoretically, takes the form of a minimal uncertainty in positions ∆x0. A finite minimal uncertainty in momenta ∆p0 has been motivated from the absence of plane waves on generic curved spaces. Both effects can be described as small noncommutative ge...
متن کامل99 6 Hilbert Space Representation of the Minimal Length Uncertainty Relation
The existence of a minimal observable length has long been suggested in quantum gravity as well as in string theory. In this context a generalized uncertainty relation has been derived which quantum theoretically describes the minimal length as a minimal uncertainty in position measurements. Here we study in full detail the quantum mechanical structure which underlies this uncertainty relation....
