Immune Reactions and Blood Coagulation

چکیده
The prominence of thrombosis in the pathogenesis of the Arthns phenomenon (1, 2), the alterations in the clotting mechanism seen in experimental anaphylaxis (3), and the occurrence of "fibrinoid" in lesions generally considered to be due to hypersensit ivity suggest tha t the interaction of antigen and antibody in vivo may in some manner init iate coagulation. Experiments to be reported here indicate that such an effect can, in fact, be demonstrated in vitro under appropriate conditions. Although the mechanism of this phenomenon is not yet clear, it seems worth while to report the basic observations because of their apparent pertinence to various irnmunopathological problems.

Nonsense-mediated mRNA decay among coagulation factor genes
Objective(s): Haemostasis prevents blood loss following vascular injury. It depends on the unique concert of events involving platelets and specific blood proteins, known as coagulation factors. The clotting system requires precise regulation and coordinated reactions to maintain the integrity of the vasculature. Clotting insufficiency mostly occurs due to genetically inherited coagulation fact...
متن کاملEffect of Eight Weeks of Aerobic Exercise on Iron Status and Coagulation and Immune Indices in Non-Athlete Females
Background and objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of aerobic exercise on serum iron, serum ferritin, platelet count, mean platelet volume, and some immunity indices in non-athlete females. In this study, 30 non-athlete females aged 30-45 years were randomly divided into an experimental and a control group. The experimental group...
متن کاملO 5: Coagulation Factors in Multiple Sclerosis may Represent Diagnostic and Therapeutic Strategies
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neuroinflammatory autoimmune disease which mediated by various molecular and cellular immune components However Recent reports have shown that coagulation factors that traditionally separate from the immune system might also be involved in MS development and progression.studies on experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and human MS patients reports alterati...
متن کاملO 6: Kininogen Deficiency Ameliorates Neuroinflammation by Reducing Immune Cell Trafficking
Enhanced immune cell trafficking into the central nervous system (CNS) and disruption of the blood brain barrier are pathophysiological hallmarks of neuroinflammatory disorders like multiple sclerosis (MS) and its animal model, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). However, recent studies suggest that the coagulation and the contact-kinin system might also be involved in MS developme...
متن کاملProthrombin complex proteins as cofactors in platelet aggregation. I. Inhibition of aggregation by antiserum.
Data are presented to support the concept that the vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors are adsorbed onto the platelet membrane and that these make up part of the "plasma atmosphere" necessary for the aggregation of platelets by various agents. Together with evidence that other coagulation factors also are part of the plasma atmosphere, it is suggested that the aggregation reaction is part o...
متن کاملBlood coagulation factor XII drives adaptive immunity during neuroinflammation via CD87-mediated modulation of dendritic cells
Aberrant immune responses represent the underlying cause of central nervous system (CNS) autoimmunity, including multiple sclerosis (MS). Recent evidence implicated the crosstalk between coagulation and immunity in CNS autoimmunity. Here we identify coagulation factor XII (FXII), the initiator of the intrinsic coagulation cascade and the kallikrein-kinin system, as a specific immune cell modula...
