Dural arteriovenous fistula involving the superior sagittal sinus following sinus thrombosis--case report.

چکیده
A 57-year-old woman presented with a dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) involving the superior sagittal sinus (SSS) based upon serial radiological examinations. Her chief complaints were headache and vomiting. Cerebral angiography and magnetic resonance (MR) venography revealed the sinus thrombosis involving the SSS, the bilateral transverse sinuses (TSs), and the right sigmoid sinus. Her symptoms disappeared after anticoagulant therapy. Follow-up MR venography revealed almost complete recanalization of the occluded sinuses, followed by restenosis of the SSS and the left TS and occlusion of the right TS without symptoms. She developed transient right hemiparesis 13 months after the initial onset. Cerebral angiography revealed a dural AVF involving the SSS with cortical reflux into the left frontoparietal region. The dural AVF was occluded by transarterial and transvenous embolization. Her symptom disappeared during the follow-up period.

Endovascular treatment of a traumatic dural arteriovenous fistula of the superior sagittal sinus using dual lumen balloon microcatheter
Dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVFs) induced by trauma in the superior sagittal sinus (SSS) are rare and difficult to treat because of their unique midline location, multiplicity of arterial feeders, and critical venous drainage. We report a case of an endovascular treatment using dual lumen balloon microcatheter on a patient with post-traumatic SSS DAVF. By the use of dual lumen Scepter balloon...

Superior sagittal sinus (SSS) dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVF) are rare and present unique challenges to treatment. Complex, often bilateral, arterial supply and involvement of large volumes of eloquent cortical venous drainage may necessitate multimodality therapy. We report a case of a DAVF of the SSS in a patient who presented uniquely with increasing dizziness and disequilibrium who was ...

A 66-year-old woman presented with intermittent paraparesis and generalized tonic-clonic seizure. Cerebral angiography demonstrated dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) involving superior sagittal sinus (SSS), which was associated with SSS occlusion on the posterior one third. The dural AVF was fed by bilateral middle meningeal arteries (MMAs), superficial temporal arteries (STAs) and occipital ar...

A 76-year-old woman presented with a dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) manifesting as typical symptoms of normal pressure hydrocephalus such as progressive dementia, gait disturbances, and urinary incontinence. The cerebrospinal fluid pressure during lumbar puncture was 120 mmH(2)O. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed ventricular dilation and diffuse white matter changes,...
