چکیده

Mononuclear cell preparations from peripheral blood after mobilization with hematopoietic growth factors have been shown t o induce accelerated neutrophil and platelet recovery as compared with that induced by autologous bone marrow transplantation after myeloablative chemotherapy. Because these mononuclear cell products contain many immunocompetent cells other than hematopoietic progenitors, these accessory cells might contribute to the rapid immunohematopoietic reconstitution. We have monitored the concentrations of soluble CD4 (sCD4). sCD8, and sCD25; the recovery of the lymphocyte subsets and of natural killer (NK) cells; and the ndogenous levels of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), interleukin-3 (IL-3). IL-6, and granulocyte-macrophage-CSF (GM-CSF) in 12 patients who underwent high-dose chemotherapy supported by blood stem cells that were obtained by mobilization with c emotherapy and GM-CSF. The concentrations of both G-CSF and IL-6

T Regulatory Cells Frequency During Maintenance Phase Chemotherapy for Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Background: Drugs used in cancer treatment specifically kill T regulatory cells. Objective: To determine different phenotypes of T regulatory cells during the maintenance phase chemotherapy for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Materials: We evaluated the percentages of regulatory T cells by flow cytometry. Soluble CTLA-4 (sCTLA-4) ...

Cell Contact–Dependent Immunosuppression by Cd4+Cd25+Regulatory T Cells Is Mediated by Cell Surface–Bound Transforming Growth Factor β

CD4(+)CD25(+) T cells have been identified as a population of immunoregulatory T cells, which mediate suppression of CD4(+)CD25(-) T cells by cell-cell contact and not secretion of suppressor cytokines. In this study, we demonstrated that CD4(+)CD25(+) T cells do produce high levels of transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta1 and interleukin (IL)-10 compared with CD4(+)CD25(-) T cells when stimul...

Activation of CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells by oral antigen administration.

CD25(+)CD4(+) T cells are naturally occurring regulatory T cells that are anergic and have suppressive properties. Although they can be isolated from the spleens of normal mice, there are limited studies on how they can be activated or expanded in vivo. We found that oral administration of OVA to OVA TCR transgenic mice resulted in a modification of the ratio of CD25(+)CD4(+) to CD25(-)CD4(+) c...
