چکیده

This paper concerns an effective text-dependent speaker verification method to increase the performance of speaker verification. While various speaker verification methods have already been developed, their effectiveness has not yet been formally proven in terms of achieving acceptable performance level. This paper proposes a weighted likelihood procedure along with a confidence measure based on subword-based textdependent speaker verification. Our aim is to remedy the low performance problem in speaker verification by exploring a means to strengthen the verification likelihood via subwordbased hypothesis criteria and weighted likelihood method. Experimental results show that the proposed speaker verification method outperforms that of the speaker verification scheme without using the proposed decision by a factor of up to 1.6 times. From these results, the proposed speaker verification method is shown to be very effective and to achieve a reliable performance.

Support vector machines based text dependent speaker verification using HMM supervectors

Conventional subword based hidden Markov models (HMMs) have proven to be an effective approach for text-dependent speaker verification. The standard training method works by modeling the MAP adapted means of subword HMMs. In this paper, we propose the use of HMM supervectors from the speaker models as features in support vector machines (SVMs) classifier. An HMM supervector is constructed by st...

Subword-dependent speaker clustering for improved speech recognition

Speaker variability has a significant impact to the state-of-the-art speech recognition systems. Traditionally speaker clustering is performed without considering individual or class phonetic similarities across different speakers. In fact, clustered speaker groups may have very different degrees of variations for different phonetic classes. In this paper, speaker clustering is performed at sub...

Comparison of whole word and subword modeling techniques for speaker verification with limited training data

In this paper we use whole word and subword hidden Markov models for text dependent speaker veri cation. In this application usually only a small amount of training data is available for each model. In order to cope with this limitation we propose a intermediate functional representation of the training data allowing the robust initialization of the models. This new approach is tested with two ...

Constrained Subword Units for Speaker Recognition

Phonetic features have been proposed to overcome performance degradation in spectral speaker recognition in difficult acoustic conditions. The harmful effect of those conditions, however, is not restricted to spectral systems but also affects the performance of the open-loop phone recognisers on which phonetic systems are based. In automatic speech recognition, larger subword units and the use ...
