چکیده

This article completes a former work where part of the O(p6) low-energy constants entering in the ππ scattering were estimated. Some resonance contributions were missed in former calculations and appreciable differences appeared with respect to our outcome. Here, we provide the full results for all the contributing O(p6) couplings. We also perform a reanalysis of the hadronic inputs used for the estimation (resonance masses, widths...). Their reliability was checked together with the impact of the input uncertainties on the determinations of the chiral couplings and the scattering lengths aJ . Our outcome is found in agreement with former works though with slightly larger errors. However, the effect in the final values of the aJ is negligible after combining them with the other uncertainties. Based on this consistency, we conclude that the previous scattering length determinations seem to be rather solid and reliable, with theO(p6) LECs quite under control. Nevertheless, the uncertainties found in the present work point out the limitation on further improvements unless the precision of the O(p6) couplings is properly increased.

ππ scattering at low energy is sensitive to the structure of the QCD vacuum. I review the calculations of the ππ scattering lengths and phases, and group them in three cathegories: 1. those based on very general theoretical constraints (like dispersion relations and crossing symmetry) and phenomenology, 2. those which in addition make explicit use of chiral symmetry, 3. the firstprinciple ones,...

In a previous paper, some deviations were found in the O(p 6) low-energy constants that contribute to the ππ–scattering lengths. This work completes the study of all the relevant couplings (r 1 , ...r 6 , r S 2). We also perform a reanalysis of the hadronical inputs used for the estimation (resonance masses, widths...), checking the impact of the input uncertainties on the determinations of the...

Effective chiral Lagrangian from dual resonance models.

Parameters of the effective chiral lagrangian (EChL) of orders O(p) and O(p6) are extracted from low–energy behaviour of dual resonance models for ππ and πK scattering amplitudes. Dual resonance models are considered to be good candidates for the resonance spectrum and for hadronic scattering amplitudes in the large Nc limit of QCD. We discuss dual resonance models in the presence of spontaneou...

Wigner-cusp in Kaon Decays and Determination of Ππ Scattering Lengths

In the last few years it has become possible to study low energy ππ scattering in kaon decays to three pions, thanks to the high statistics measurement of K → πππ decays performed by the NA48/2 experiment at the CERN SPS. At the ππ threshold, the ππ mass spectrum exhibits a Wigner-cusp, from which the S-wave ππ scattering lengths are extracted with high precision. This measurement is complement...

Low energy dynamics and the ππ scattering lengths from the NA48/2 experiment at CERN

The observation of a cusp-like structure in the M00 invariant mass distribution in the decay K ± → π±π0π0 by the NA48/2 experiment at CERN has given a renewed interest in the ππ scattering lengths. We report the result of a study of a partial sample of 2.3 × 10 decays, the observation of an anomaly in the ππ mass spectrum in the region around M00 = m+, where m+ is the mass of the charged pion, ...
