Determination of nonfibrin protein in fibrin clots by use of I-131-labeled protein fractions.
نویسنده
چکیده
The amount of nonfibrin proteins occluded within fibrin clots was investigated with specific radioiodinated human protein fractions. Vigorous washing of the clot followed by syneresis on absorbant paper removed all but small traces of albumin and alpha and gamma globulins. These fractions constituted approximately 6% of the total proteins in fibrin clots when fibrinogen concentrations were normal. The percentage of occluded protein increased as fibrinogen levels decreased. At fibrinogen concentrations of 48 mg./100 ml. plasma, albumin approached 20% of the total. Fibrinogen determinations which are based on the protein content, or dry weight, of the isolated clot are thus subject to systematic error which varies inversely with the fibrinogen concentration.

Identification of Fibrinolytic Activity in Iranian Vipera Lebetina Venom
Background and purpose: Vipera lebetina lives in different areas in Iran, and its venom contains a variety of proteins with coagulant and anticoagulant activities. Fibrinolytic enzymes could have a therapeutic role in dissolution of blood clots, so, this study aimed at separating the venom components of Iranian V. lebetina and detecting its anticoagulant activity. Materials and methods: In thi...
متن کاملDistribution and fate of I-131-labeled components of the fibrinolysin system.
IN THE COURSE of assaying the potency of a variety of fibrinolytic enzyme preparations in dogs and monkeys with isotopelabeled fibrin clots, we observed that the fibrinolytie activity disappeared rapidly from the systemic circulation. Dissolution of blood clots was noted to occur long after the disappearance of measurable circulating fibrinolytic activity. These experimental observations were c...
متن کاملApplication of radioimmunoassay technique for determination of antigen concentration in different cells with a new monoclonal antibody [Persian]
Introduction: Binding a monoclonal antibody to tumor associated antigens is an effective method for cancer therapy because these agents can specifically target malignant cells, in fact monoclonal antibodies are effective agents for diagnosis, grading and treatment of different kinds of cancers. Methods: In this research, a new monoclonal antibody against colon cancer cells was prepared an...
متن کاملType 1 plasminogen activator inhibitor binds to fibrin via vitronectin.
Type 1 plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1), the primary inhibitor of tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA), circulates as a complex with the abundant plasma glycoprotein, vitronectin. This interaction stabilizes the inhibitor in its active conformation In this report, the effects of vitronectin on the interactions of PAI-1 with fibrin clots were studied. Confocal microscopic imaging of p...
متن کاملFibrin induction of thrombospondin in corneal endothelial cells in vitro.
PURPOSE Fibrin deposition in the anterior chamber of the eye occurs in response to injury or inflammation and can permanently damage the corneal endothelium. Fibrin functions as a mediator of inflammation and wound healing by affecting cell morphology and function in a variety of cells, including corneal endothelial cells. We hypothesized that fibrin can directly induce corneal endothelial cell...
