چکیده
Integrating sensors with autonomously navigating robots makes them useful for many applications: delivery of packages, components, and supplies; monitoring wireless networks, radiation, or HVAC; and responding to emergencies and hazards. MobileRobots' intelligent, autonomous mobile platforms perform these and many other tasks. A result of nearly eleven years of development, the company's next-generation mobile robots are now being deployed in the automobile, semiconductor, healthcare, and building-automation industries.

The research areas of mobile robotic sensors lie in the intersection of two major fields of investigations carried out by quite distinct communities of researchers: autonomous robots and mobile sensor networks. Robotic sensors are micro-robots capable of locomotion and sensing. Like the sensors in wireless sensor networks, they are myopic: their sensing range is limited. Unlike the sensors in w...

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...
