چکیده

The method of pulsed cavity-ring-down spectroscopy was employed to record the water vapor absorption spectrum in the wavelength range 555-604 nm. The spectrum consists of 1830 lines, calibrated against the iodine standard with an accuracy of 0.01 cm(-1); 800 of these lines are not obtained in the HITRAN 96 database, while 243 are not included in the newly recorded Fourier transform spectrum of the Reims group. Of the set of hitherto unobserved lines, 111 could be given an assignment in terms of rovibrational quantum numbers from a comparison with first principles calculations. Trace moisture detection using continuous-wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy.

We have developed an instrument to measure trace concentrations of small hydride species in gases using continuous-wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy with near-infrared diode laser excitation. An rms baseline equivalent absorbance of 9.2 x 10(-11) cm(-1)/square root(n) is found, where n is the number of ring-down transients. When the 1396.376-nm absorption line of water is used, this correspond...

Evanescent Wave Cavity Ring-down Spectroscopy: a Future Technology for Process Sensing

Evanescent wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy (EW-CRDS) is described. The total internal reflection (TIR)-ring and monolithic folded cavity designs are briefly discussed. The performance of EW-CRDS for trace water vapor detection is evaluated by accounting for surface chemical and physical properties as well as intrinsic resonator properties. INTRODUCTION Cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS) us...

ring-down spectroscopy with laser-current-tuned cavity resonance

High-precision analysis of the 17O / 16O isotope ratio in water and water vapor is of interest in hydrological, paleoclimate, and atmospheric science applications. Of specific interest is the parameter 17Oexcess (117O), a measure of the deviation from a linear relationship between 17O / 16O and 18O / 16O ratios. Conventional analyses of 117O of water are obtained by fluorination of H2O to O2 th...

Water dimer absorption of visible light

Laboratory measurements of water vapor absorption using cavity ring-down spectroscopy revealed a broad absorption at 405 nm with a quadratic dependence on water monomer concentration, a similar absorption with a linear component at 532 nm, and only linear absorption at 570 nm in the vicinity of water monomer peaks. D2O ab5 sorption is weaker and linear at 405 nm. Van’t Hoff plots constructed at...

Field Testing of Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy Analyzers Measuring Carbon Dioxide and Water Vapor

Prevalent methods for making high-accuracy tower-based measurements of the CO2 mixing ratio, notably nondispersive infrared spectroscopy (NDIR), require frequent system calibration and sample drying. Wavelength-scanned cavity ring-down spectroscopy (WS-CRDS) is an emerging laser-based technique with the advantages of improved stability and concurrent water vapor measurements. Results are presen...
