Using the Glm Procedure to Analyze Multivariate Response in Crossover Designs

چکیده

The crossover design involves observing the same response variate under different experimental conditions for each subject, and as such, is a special case of a repeated measures or multivariate data structure. The general multivariate linear model provides a natural framework for analysis of such data because generalizations to more complex structures are feasible and follow the same rationale. Response to treatment is often multivariate, especially in clinical studies, although multivariate response has received relatively little attention in the literature on analysis of crossover designs. The GLM procedure provides an easy-to-use approach to the analysis of multivariate response data arising in crossover stodies. We demonstrate the methods and outline the steps for using SAS· to carry out a general class of analyses.

Fitting Second-order Models to Mixed Two-level and Four-level Factorial Designs: Is There an Easier Procedure?

Fitting response surface models is usually carried out using statistical packages to solve complicated equations in order to produce the estimates of the model coefficients. This paper proposes a new procedure for fitting response surface models to mixed two-level and four-level factorial designs. New and easier formulae are suggested to calculate the linear, quadratic and the interaction coeff...

Genetic algorithm for Echo cancelling

In this paper, echo cancellation is done using genetic algorithm (GA). The genetic algorithm is implemented by two kinds of crossovers; heuristic and microbial. A new procedure is proposed to estimate the coefficients of adaptive filters used in echo cancellation with combination of the GA with Least-Mean-Square (LMS) method. The results are compared for various values of LMS step size and diff...

Taguchi Design optimization using multivariate process capability index

The Taguchi method is a useful technique to improve the performance of products or processes at a lower cost and in less time. This procedure can be categorized in the static and dynamic quality characteristics. The optimization of multiple responses has received increasing attention over the last few years in many manufacturing organizations.  Several approaches dealing with multiple static q...

HH - 3017 , 9 : 30 a . m . Statistical Inference for Response - Adaptive Designs in Multi - Center Clinical Trials

We discuss methods for comparing two treatments A and B. We investigate the performance of response-adaptive (RA) and covariate-adjusted response-adaptive (CARA) designs in multi-center clinical trials. First, we discuss applying RA designs to maximize the well-being of participating patients in multi-center clinical trials. We assume that the centers are selected from a large population of cen...
