Remote Sensing Image Fusion Based on Enhancement of Edge Feature Information

A new image fusion algorithm of the multispectral image and the panchromatic image is proposed by using the non-subsampled contourlet transform and the lαβ color space. The non-subsampled contourlet transform is used to decompose an image into a low frequency approximate component and several high frequency detail components, and an edge enhancement method is employed to extract features from a high resolution image. For keeping the spectral little changing when image fusion, the lαβ color space, which is a new color space that simulates the visual perception of human, is adopted in this paper. Experimental results indicate that this proposed algorithm can obtain a fusion image which has more rich details. Copyright © 2014 IFSA Publishing, S. L.
