چکیده
surgical cases compared to robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery. Sixty-nine percent (n = 33) of fellows indicated that robot-assisted laparoscopy allows them to perform more challenging surgical cases compared to conventional laparoscopy. Fifty six percent (n = 27) of fellows agreed that the cost associated with robotassisted laparoscopy is the greatest disadvantage of using robot-assisted laparoscopy. Seventy-nine percent (n = 38) of fellows plan to use conventional laparoscopy more than robot-assisted laparoscopy after fellowship completion. Ninety-six percent (n = 46) of fellows indicated that they plan to practice at a hospital that offers robotic surgery after fellowship completion. Conclusion: The majority of AAGL MIGS fellows desire to participate in robotic surgery. More research needs to be performed regarding the training needs of AAGL MIGS fellows.

Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopy in Gynecological Surgery
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic surgery has revolutionized the concept of minimally invasive surgery for the last 3 decades. Robotic-assisted surgery is one of the latest innovations in the field of minimally invasive surgery. Already, many procedures have been performed in urology, cardiac surgery, and general surgery. In this article, we attempt to report our preliminary experience with robotic-assis...

Objective. To investigate patient knowledge and attitudes toward surgical approaches in gynecology. Design. An anonymous Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved questionnaire survey. Patients/Setting. A total of 219 women seeking obstetrical and gynecological care in two offices affiliated with an academic medical center. Results. Thirty-four percent of the participants did not understand the...
متن کاملNovel Management of Anastomotic Disruption and Persistent Hematuria Following Robotic Prostatectomy: Case Report and Review of the Literature
Vesicourethral anastomosis leaks are not uncommon following radical prostatectomy. We present a case of a 59-year-old male who presented to our ED with hematuria, abdominal pain, and clot retention 17 days after a robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy. A 50% vesicourethral disruption was ultimately managed endoscopically and with hemostatic agents. At 9-month follow-up he is fully contine...
متن کاملCurrent status of robotic surgery in Japan
The da Vinci S surgical system (Intuitive Surgical) was approved as a medical device in 2009 by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Robotic surgery has since been used in gastrointestinal, thoracic, gynecological, and urological surgeries. In April 2012, robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP) was first approved for insurance coverage. Since then, RALP has be...
متن کاملPost-operative alopecia after robotic surgery in steep Trendelenburg position: a restated observation of pressure alopecia.
Postoperative alopecia is an uncommon complication and its outcome is aesthetically drastic. Although its mechanism has not been clearly elucidated, a proposed risk factor is steep Trendelenburg positioning (30-40 degrees) that is frequently used during robotic gynecologic surgeries. We report a case of postoperative alopecia in 53-year-old female patient who had undergone robotic-assisted lapa...
