چکیده

The interference temperature (IT) model offers a novel way to perform spectrum allocation and management. Recent research has proposed schemes that take advantage of the model; however, there are still lingering questions about what exactly IT means, and how it should be measured. The temperature characterization may make sense for thermal noise, but interference behaves differently. This research describes two interpretations of the interference temperature model, and investigates how we can measure IT in each. One of the models lends itself to an interesting analysis of how interference temperature affects power, bandwidth, and capacity, and those relations are investigated.

Sea surface temperature observation through clouds

Sea surface temperature (SST) is an important parameter used in many applications, such as fisheries, weather forecasting as boundary condition, and monitoring of climate changes. In these applications, SST is necessary under both fine and cloudy conditions, which can be made by passive microwave radiometers in particular under cloudy condition. To measure SST by microwave radiometers, frequenc...

Measuring the deposited energy from a non-ionizing laser beam in water by digital holographic interferometry

Digital Holographic interferometry is a powerful and widely used optical technique for accurate measurement of variations in physical quantities such as density, refractive index, and etc. In this study, an experimental digital holographic interferometry setup was designed and used to measure the amount of energy changes induced by absorption of radiation from a non-ionizing infrared laser beam...

Fiber-Optic Pyrometer with Optically Powered Switch for Temperature Measurements

We report the experimental results on a new infrared fiber-optic pyrometer for very localized and high-speed temperature measurements ranging from 170 to 530 °C using low-noise photodetectors and high-gain transimpedance amplifiers with a single gain mode in the whole temperature range. We also report a shutter based on an optical fiber switch which is optically powered to provide a reference s...
