متن کاملAnalgesic effects of lidocaine-ketorolac compared to lidocaine alone for intravenous regional anesthesia
Background: Intravenous regional anesthesia is a simple and reliable method for upper extremity surgery. In order to increase the quality of blocks and reduce the amount of pain, many drugs are used with lidocaine. In this study, the effect of ketorolac-lidocaine in intravenous regional anesthesia was investigated. Methods: 40 patients undergoing elective upper limb with America Society of Ane...

A problem with modern general anesthetics is that even though patients can be awake and oriented shortly after cessation of the anesthetic. There is growing evidence suggesting that regional anesthesia has an important rol...
متن کاملRegional anesthesia alone for pediatric free flaps.
Microvascular surgery plays an important reconstructive role in the pediatric population. Successful outcomes rely on surgical technique as well as anesthesia. Regional anesthesia contributes to successful free tissue transfer through sympathetic blockade, postoperative pain control, and elimination of risks and costs associated with general anesthesia. While regional anesthesia in microsurgery...
متن کاملA prospective, double-blinded, randomized comparison of ultrasound-guided femoral nerve block with lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block versus standard anesthetic management for pain control during and after traumatic femur fracture repair in the pediatric population
BACKGROUND Traumatic injury of the femur resulting in femoral fracture may result in significant postoperative pain. As with other causes of acute pain, regional anesthesia may offer a benefit over conventional therapy with intravenous opioids. This study prospectively assesses the effects of femoral nerve blockade with a lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block (FN-LFCN) on intraoperative anesthe...
