The Millimeter/sub-millimeter Spectrum of the Lis Radical in Its P I Ground State

چکیده
The pure rotational spectrum of LiS X 2 P i has been recorded in the v 0 and v 1 states in the region 130±540 GHz using millimeter/sub-millimeter direct absorption methods. This radical was synthesized from lithium vapor and CS 2 in a DC discharge. Transitions arising from the two orbit components were measured, both which exhibited lambda-doubling and, for the X 1=2 ladder, hyper®ne interactions. Rotational, lambda-doubling, and hyper®ne parameters have subsequently been determined. These data prove unambiguously that the ground state of LiS is 2 P i and suggest that the A 2 R state lies $ 4300 cm À1 higher in energy. The bonding in this radical appears to be predominantly ionic.

Hyperfine structure of the Sic radical
The millimeter-wave rotational spectrum of the free 2’?SiC radical in the X 311 ground state, produced in a low-pressure glow discharge through SiH, and CO, was detected with the same reactive-molecule spectrometer used earlier to detect Sic and Si13C. Eleven rotational transitions, all but two with resolved hyperfine structure, were measured between 195 GHz (J = 4+ 5) and 372 GHz (J = 8 --+ 9)...
متن کاملFourier transform millimeter-wave spectroscopy of the ethyl radical in the electronic ground state.
The pure rotational spectrum of the ethyl radical (C2H5) has been detected for the first time with the Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectrometer. The ethyl radical is produced by discharging the C2H5I gas diluted in Ar. The 1(01)-0(00) rotational transition of the ethyl radical is observed in the frequency range from 43,680 to 43,780 MHz. The observed spectrum shows a very complicated patt...

The pure rotational spectrum of the FeF radical in its Di ground electronic state has been recorded using millimeter/submillimeter direct absorption techniques. Transitions arising from all six spin-orbit components have been observed in the v50, 1, and 2 vibrational levels of FeF, the main isotopic species, and also in the less abundant Fe isotopomer. Hyperfine splittings, arising from the F n...

The pure rotational spectrum of the ZnCN radical in its X S ground electronic state has been recorded using millimeter/sub-mm direct absorption techniques in the range 339–543 GHz. This work is the first spectroscopic observation of this molecule, which was created by the reaction of zinc vapor and cyanogen gas in a dc discharge. Twenty-one rotational transitions were recorded for the main zinc...
متن کاملFourier transform millimeter - wave spectroscopy of the HCS radical in the 2 A 8 ground electronic state
The 101– 000 rotational transition of the HCS radical in the X̃ A8 ground electronic state has been observed with a Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectrometer in combination with a pulsed discharge nozzle. The radical is produced by discharging a mixture of CH4 and H2S diluted in Ar. Six fine and hyperfine components are detected, and the effective rotational constant, spin–rotation interact...
