چکیده
In the evolution processes of wind blown sand movement and aeolian geomorphology, it always contains some complex behaviors, for example, the nonlinear character of turbulence and attractors, the stochastic character of wind gust, liftoff and movement of sand, the interaction among wind field, sand movement, electric field in wind blown sand flux and thermal diffusion, multi-scale character from sand ripple to dune, which deserve to be paid attention by mechanical researchers. In this paper, we introduce the recent works of our research group in Lanzhou University, China on the measurement, modeling and simulation of wind blown sand movement and aeolian geomorphology in detail. 1. THE FLUCTUATION AND INTERMITTENCE CHARACTERS OF WIND VELOCITY AND SAND TRANSPORT INTENSITY With instruments jointly developed and integrated by our researchers and American colleagues, we realized to simultaneously measure the natural wind profile, sand transport intensity, sand transport rate, temperature and humidity in the near-surface layer in real-time with high frequency. -500 0 50

Investigating the interaction between rivers and sand dunes in arid and semi-arid regions of Iran
Extended abstract 1- Introduction Fluvial and aeolian processes are important factors in changing the surface of morphology in the Earth. When rivers and sand dunes meet, the transportation of sediment between them can lead to one of the systems or both of them change. With their connection between river sediment and wind systems there would be lots of reactions, but very little has been st...

Aeolian transport is an important mechanism for the transport of sand on Earth and on Mars. Dust and sand storms are common occurrences on Mars and windblown sand is responsible for many of the observed surface features, such as dune fields. A better understanding of Aeolian transport could also lead to improvements in pneumatic conveying of materials to be mined for life support on the surface...

1. Introduction Among sedimentary systems that are rich and poor in terms of sediment load, a different organization of the sand dunes can be seen. Barchan dunes are one of the accumulative landforms of wind that are considered from poor sedimentary systems in desert environments. The dunes are the crescent shape, and have two horns at the end. Along the horns the prevailing wind direction...
متن کاملThe Influence of Hydrogeology Characteristics on Sand dune movement (Case study: Daranjir playa)
Introduction About 1/4th of the world deserts is covered with Aeolian sand (McKee, 1979; Ghadiry et al., 2012). Sand dunes are considered as one of the most important geomorphic features of such environments the formation of which shows the abundant resources of sand, the sand-moving powerful wind and the suitable conditions for sediment deposit (Tsoar, 2001; Michel et al, 2018). The most sign...

The result of wind dynamic (capacity and potential) is transport of soil or sediment particles and subsequent formative desert landforms based on the severity of erosion or sedimentation. The Khartouran region, because of its geology, geomorphology and climatology conditions is a special place in the arid region on the closed basin of Dasht-e-kavir. It is evident that the ecosystem balance of t...
