چکیده
INTRODUCTION Catheter ablation of arrhythmias can be challenging in patients with congenital heart disease (1). Besides the complexity of the arrhythmias seen in these patients, variations in the anatomy of the normal conduction system also contribute to that challenge. Arrhythmias following surgical repair of congenital heart defects are particularly more difficult to deal with (2). In this article, we present the catheter ablation procedure in a patient with primum ASD, Wolff-ParkinsonWhite syndrome and unusually located AV node.

Pulmonary Embolism as a Complication after radiofrequency catheter ablation Study: A Case Report
Pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) is a fatal condition that may rarely occur due to complications of coronary catheter insertion. In this case report, a 41-year-old male was presented 48 hours after radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA) for the management of Wolf-Parkinson-White syndromewith acute onset of dyspnea, hemoptysis, and chest pain. The physical examination revealed coarse crackles in ...
متن کاملRadiofrequency catheter ablation in the treatment of Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome
Introduction: Tachyarrhythmias in Wolf Parkinson White (WPW) syndrome, can be a life threatening factor. Antiarrhythmic drug therapy in this syndrome, has not been completely acceptable. Efficacy, safety and economy of Radio Frequency Catheter Ablation (RFCA) in western studies, has made it as the treatment of choice. In the present study, efficacy of RFCA in the ablation of accessory pathway...
متن کاملCommentary: An Unusual Case of Leadless Pacemaker Implantation in a Patient with Wolff–Parkinson-White Syndrome: Just Because We Can, Does That Mean That We Should?
In the case presented by Drs. Tanaka-Esposito and Cantillon, a patient deemed to be at risk of developing unpredictable atrioventricular (AV) block based on electrophysiology findings and a catheter ablation procedure is chosen for the implantation of a leadless pacemaker that will provide permanent, prophylactic ventricular pacing. Briefly, this case involved a patient with a midseptal accesso...
متن کاملSpontaneous variations in atrioventricular conduction in pre-excitation.
Atrial pacing in a patient with a Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome pattern showed unusual variability in AV nodal conduction time. Changes in the AV nodal conduction time occurred predominantly at paced rates in excess of 100/min and consisted of abrupt or gradual decreases in the AH interval. Such decreases resulted in unexpected normalization of the QRS pattern. In addition, pacing also reveale...
متن کاملPatterns of ventriculo-atrial conduction in the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
In 36 patients with the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, ventriculo-atrial (VA) conduction was studied using the single test stimulus method. In 22 patients no significant change in VA conduction time occurred following test stimuli with increasing prematurity suggesting exclusive VA conduction by way of the accessory pathway, an accessory pathway with a shorter refractory period than the His-AV...
