چکیده

Characterization of an off-the-shelf small tailless aircraft with a wing span of 1.3m is presented. Mentioned aircraft is being used in several scientific measurement projects by authors, whereas the flight performance and quality such as endurance, and stability plays an important role on the measurement quality. Hence the main objective is to use the extracted and fine tuned aerodynamic and flight performance characteristics of the aircraft for a better flight control and mission planning during simulations and real flights. Aerodynamic characteristics are obtained through flight tests, numerical analyses, and some isolated ground experiments for the propulsion system. The comparison of different measurement and estimation techniques are discussed.

Modeling, simulation and analysis of a multi degree of freedom aircraft wing model

This paper presented methods to determine the aerodynamic forces that acton an aircraft wing during flight. These methods are initially proposed for asimplified two degree-of-freedoms airfoil model and then are extensivelyapplied for a multi-degree-of-freedom airfoil system. Different airspeedconditions are considered in establishing such methods. The accuracy of thepresented methods is verifie...

Specification of operational flight profiles and dynamics:

Commercial-off-the-shelf flight simulators are now reconfigurable through user interface software and have a significant increase in the number of parameterised aerodynamic co-efficients available to model the fidelity of flight performance. This leads to more stringent requirements concerning the management and interpretation of flight performance data which in turn means that certification of...

Simulation Modeling and Analysis of In-Flight Service Operations for Commercial Passenger Flights

Nowadays, in-flight comfort has become an essential characteristic to survive in domestic airline businesses. Air hostesses’ quality of service and response time to customer demand plays a vital role in enhancing quality of the flight experience and passenger satisfaction. However, additional requirements on air hostess expose them to fatigue which could eventually result in job dissatisfac...

Prediction of Aerodynamic Coefficients Using Neural Networks for Sparse Data

A reliable and fast method of predicting complex aerodynamic coefficients for flight simulation is presented using neural networks. The training data for the neural network is derived from numerical simulations and wind-tunnel experiments. The aerodynamic coefficients are modeled as functions of the flow characteristics and the control surfaces of the vehicle. The basic coefficients of lift, dr...
