We point out that this effective field theory can be extended to the sector that includes an additional pion and used to calculate cross sections for the scattering of a pion and the Xð3872Þ. If the collision energy is much smaller than the pion mass, the cross sections are completely calculable at leading order in terms of the masses and widths of the charm mesons, pion masses, and the binding energy of the Xð3872Þ. We carry out an explicit calculation of the cross section for the breakup of the Xð3872Þ into D þ D 0 by the scattering of a very low energy þ.

HELICITY AND PLANAR AMPLITUDES IN PION-PROTON SCATTERING AT 6.0 GeV/c

In addition to optimal conditions, invariant laws of Lorentz, parity and time reversal are imposed to find the relation between observables (spin rotation parameters) and bilinear combination of helicity amplitudes in pion-proton elastic scattering at 6.0 GeV/c. By normalizing the differential cross-section to unity, the magnitudes of helicity amplitudes and the angle between them are dete...

NONDYNAMICAL ANALYSIS OF SPIN AMPLITUDES IN PION-PROTON ELASTIC SCATTERING IN OPTIMAL FORMALISM AT 6.0 GeV/C

Optimal conditions are used in nondynamical formalism to diagonalize the pionproton reaction matrix as much as possible. Invariance laws are imposed to simplify the relationship between observables and bilinear combination of amplitudes. Transverse amplitudes are determined by using measured polarization parameter in xfp elastic scattering at 6.0 GeVIC

Remarks on the quantum numbers of Xð3872Þ from the invariant mass distributions of the J=c and!J=c final states

Cheremushkinskaya 25, Moscow, Russia (Received 1 December 2011; published 6 January 2012) We reanalyze the twoand three-pion mass distributions in the decays Xð3872Þ ! J=c and Xð3872Þ ! !J=c and argue that the present data favor the 1þþ assignment for the quantum numbers of t...

New light on electromagnetic corrections to the scattering parameters obtained from experiments on pionium

We calculate the electromagnetic corrections needed to obtain isospin invariant hadronic pion-pion s-wave scattering lengths a, a from the elements acc, a0c of the s-wave scattering matrix for the (π+π−, ππ) system at the π+π− threshold. The latter can be extracted from experiments on the π+π− atom (pionium). Our calculation uses energy independent hadronic pion-pion potentials V , V 2 that sat...

Evaluation of the Axial Vector Commutator Sum Rule for Pion-Pion Scattering

We consider the sum rule proposed by one of us (SLA), obtained by taking the expectation value of an axial vector commutator in a state with one pion. The sum rule relates the pion decay constant to integrals of pion-pion cross sections, with one pion off the mass shell. We remark that recent data on pionpion scattering allow a precise evaluation of the sum rule. We also discuss the related Adl...
