Supersymmetric Dark Matter: Relic Density and Detection
نویسنده
چکیده
The Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) makes a good Dark Matter (DM) candidate, since its relic density quite naturally comes out close to the cosmologically required value. This is true even in minimal Supergravity models with radiative symmetry breaking, which have a rather small number of free parameters. On the other hand, the experimental detection of SUSY DM might be quite difficult, necessitating km size neutrino detectors or direct detection experiments with several tons of detector material. A Statistical Analysis of Supersymmetric Dark Matter in the MSSM after WMAP
We study supersymmetric dark matter in the general flavor diagonal MSSM by means of an extensive random scan of its parameter space. We find that, in contrast with the standard mSUGRA lore, the large majority of viable models features either a higgsino or a wino-like lightest neutralino, and yields a relic abundance well below the WMAP bound. Among the models with neutralino relic density withi...
متن کاملDark Matter Candidates in Supersymmetric Models
The status of the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM) will be discussed in light of our current understanding of the relic density after WMAP. A global likelihood analysis of the model is performed including data from direct Higgs searches, global fits to electroweak data, b → sγ, the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, as well as the cosmological relic density. Also co...
متن کاملUncertainties in the Prediction of the Relic Density of Supersymmetric Dark Matter
One of the very attractive features of the minimal supersymmetric standard model is that it provides a natural candidate for cold dark matter. Cosmology, and in particular the measurement of the relic density of dark matter then put some strong constraints on the supersymmetric model. For example, WMAP [1] which at 2σ constrains the relic density in the range .094 < Ωh < .129 points to very spe...
متن کاملIndirect Search for Neutralino Dark Matter with High Energy Neutrinos
We investigate the prospects of indirect searches for supersymmetric neutralino dark matter. Relic neutralinos gravitationally accumulate in the Sun and their annihilations produce high energy neutrinos. Muon neutrinos of this origin can be seen in large detectors like AMANDA, IceCube and ANTARES. We evaluate the relic density and the detection rate in several models — the minimal supersymmetri...
متن کاملInverse Decays and the Relic Density of the Sterile Sneutrino
We consider a weak scale supersymmetric seesaw model where the Higgsino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle and the righthanded sneutrino is the dark matter candidate. It is shown that, in this model, inverse decays, which had been previously neglected, may suppress the sneutrino relic density by several orders of magnitude. After including such processes and numerically solving the...
