Aspects of planar, oblique and interacting shock waves in an ideal dissociating gas

چکیده
We develop a compact dimensionless framework for the analysis of canonical thermo-chemical nonequilibrium flow fields involving normal, oblique and interacting shock waves. Discontinuous solutions of the conservation equations are coupled with thermodynamic and kinetic models for an ideal dissociating gas. Convenient forms are provided for the variation of the relevant dimensionless parameters across shock waves in dissociating gases. The treatment is carried through in a consistent manner for the pressure–flow deflection angle plane representation of shock wave interaction problems. The contribution of the current paper is a careful nondimensionalization of the problem that yields a tractable formulation and allows results with considerable generality to be obtained. © 2003 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1572162#

A Shock Wave Attached to a Pointed Obstacle in a Steady Flow of a Dissociating Gas
A pointed obstacle is assumed symmetrically placed with respect to a uniform supersonic flow ahead of it. It ia as~umed that an oblique shock wave attached to the leading edge of the obstacle appears from the vertex so that the flow after the shock is along the surface of the obstacle. In this paper a relation between the curvature of an attached shock wave and that of a stream line is discover...
متن کاملOblique Shock Waves and Shock Reflection ∗ †
Oblique and conical shock waves are generated as solid projectile flies supersonically, or as a planar shock wave is reflected along a ramp. We study the stability of oblique shock waves for full Euler system of equations in gas-dynamics. The stability criterion is applied to the discussion of regular shock reflection phenomena and the transition of a regular shock reflection to Mach reflection.

According to the suddenly compression of the matters in some regions of the compressible fluids, the density and temperature suddenly increases, and shockwaves can be produced. متن کاملNumerical solution of non-planar Burgers equation by Haar wavelet method
In this paper, an efficient numerical scheme based on uniform Haar wavelets is used to solve the non-planar Burgers equation. The quasilinearization technique is used to conveniently handle the nonlinear terms in the non-planar Burgers equation. The basic idea of Haar wavelet collocation method is to convert the partial differential equation into a system of algebraic equations that involves a ...
متن کاملAnalysis on Linear Stability of Oblique Shock Waves in Steady Supersonic Flow
An attached oblique shock wave is generated when a sharp solid projectile flies supersonically in the air. We study the linear stability of oblique shock waves in steady supersonic flow under three dimensional perturbation in the incoming flow. Euler system of equations for isentropic gas model is used. The linear stability is established for shock front with supersonic downstream flow, in addi...
