ScanArray Application Note : SNP Genotyping (Zip Code or Apex Methods), Protein Arrays and Gene Expression

Researchers are beginning to use a wide range of fluors in microarray experiments. A partial list (derived from the literature, discussion with colleagues, rumors, etc) includes FITC, Alexa Fluor® 488, 532, 546, 568 & 594, FAM, JOE, Cy3TM, tetramethylrhodamine, TAMRA, ROX, Texas Red, BODIPYand Cy5TM. Here we review a set of papers where multiple fluors are used in SNP genotyping and protein arrays. The use of alternative fluorescent dyes in gene expression analysis will also be discussed.
