چکیده

We apply correlation analysis of chemical bonds (CACB) to simple organic reaction paths. CACB, an operatorbased formalism for analyzing the electronic structure for molecule, clarifies how bond exchange processes relate to changes in covalent bond orders and bond interaction coefficients. For single bond-exchange processes, the bonds correlation typically is negative for interchanging bonds. For two bond-exchange processes, this coefficient can be either negative or slightly positive near zero, reflecting the nature of the bond exchange process. The simplest formalism can, sometimes, lead to unphysical values for the atomic valence and the bonds correlation coefficients. We analyzed the origin of this behavior and attributed it to the non-Hermitian property of the operator. We show how to avoid this problem by symmetrizing the operator through use of orthogonal atomic orbitals.

Topological analysis has been performed on the total electron density of the two forms of Ozonemolecule,C2V and D3H ,to investigate the nature of chemical bonds ,molecular structure , atomiccharges and electrical properties. While these concepts have been completely discussed usingclassical models the emphasize in this work is based on Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules(QTAIM). Because the D3...

Correlation Analysis of Chemical Bonds

We present the methodology for correlation analysis of chemical bond operators (CACB) on ab initio wave functions. In CACB the wave function is analyzed in a hierarchy of quantities (charge, bond order, bondbond correlation), where each quantity is the expectation value of an operator related to the statistical covariance of the previous quantity. CACB does not require any preconceived notion o...

Topological Analysis and Quantum Mechanical Structure of C4 and C5 Pure Carbon Clusters

Two bonding models i.e cumullenic and acetylenic models have been proposed to account for thebonding patterns in linear carbon clusters while the bonding patterns in cyclic and 3D geometrieS of theseclusters have remained ambiguous. This work presents the bonding patterns in various C4 and C5 pure clusters at MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level oftheory. This subject is studied in the light of modern bonding ...

The Representation of the Chemical Bond in Quantum Chemical Calculations

The mathematical representation of chemical bonds in molecules is discussed. The molecule is viewed as a system of weakly interacting chemical bonds. The intrabond problems and the averaged electrostatic interbond interactions are handled at the . zeroth order, while the small interbond delocalization and dispersion effects are taken into account on the basis of the perturbation theory. A speci...
