The isolation and compsotion of two phosphoproteins from hen's egg.
نویسنده
چکیده
1. Phosvitin extracted from domestic hen's-egg yolk was resolved on Sephadex G-100 into two phosphoprotein components. 2. The major component has a molecular weight of about 3.4x10(4) and alanine as an N-terminal residue. Glucosamine is present, but tyrosine is virtually absent. 3. The minor component has a molecular weight of about 2.8x10(4) and lysine as an N-terminal residue. Missing residues are glucosamine, methionine and leucine. Lysine, histidine, threonine, glycine, phenylalanine and tyrosine contents differ significantly from those of the major component. 4. Sephadex G-100 also removes small amounts of an impurity with a much higher molecular weight.

Ovoglycoprotein, a protein of hen's-egg white.
1. A description is given of the isolation of a glycoprotein from hen's-egg white; it has been called ovoglycoprotein. 2. It contains 13.6% of hexose, 13.8% of hexosamine and 3% of sialic acid. 3. Hexose occurs as mannose and galactose in the ratio 2:1, hexosamine as glucosamine and sialic acid as N-acetylneuraminic acid. 4. It has S(20,w) 2.47s and a minimum molecular weight, calculated from t...
متن کاملHen's egg allergen in house and bed dust is significantly increased after hen's egg consumption-A pilot study.
Environmental exposure to food allergens may be a risk factor for cutaneous sensitization. Previous studies could detect peanut allergen in house dust. In this pilot study, we wanted to investigate whether hen's egg allergen is detectable in house dust collected from different household areas and whether levels are increased after intentional hen's egg consumption. Hen's egg protein levels of d...
متن کاملSafety and feasibility of heated egg yolk challenge for children with egg allergies.
BACKGROUND Hen's egg allergy is a frequent cause of childhood food allergy. Egg yolk is used in various commonly consumed foods; if children with allergy to hen's egg could eat heated egg yolk, their quality of life (QOL) would improve. No reports exist regarding oral food challenges (OFCs) for heated egg yolk. We aimed to clarify whether pediatric patients allergic to hen's egg could consume h...
متن کاملThe Major Allergen from Hen's Egg White: Ovomucoid (Gal d 1)
Ovomucoid (OM) is the dominant allergen from hen's egg white. Frequency of sensitization to OM varies from 34-97% in egg allergic patients. The carbohydrate moieties of OM present up to 22-29%. It consists of 186 amino acids forming three tandem domains, each providing trypsin inhibitory activity. Effective isolation and purification of OM was attained by combined IEC / SEC and by automated fra...
متن کاملComparison of Four Different Purification Methods for Isolation of Anti Echis carinatus Antivenom Antibodies from Immunized Chicken Egg Yolk
Egg-laying hens were immunized with the Echis carinatus venom and the resulting antibodies were extracted from egg yolk by four different purification methods. The chicken egg yolk antibodies were purified by the water dilution method, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and ammonium sulphate precipitation method, chloroform extraction and the Lithium sulphate precipitation method. These methods were com...
