چکیده

In the recent decade, the rapid development of biometric technologies for security applications spurred increased interest in both academic research community and industrial sectors. Fingerprint images frequently have poor characteristics, because these traces are captured in crime places and are left on objects of different structure. The quality of the fingerprint images greatly affects the performance of the minutiae extraction. We design a robust approach to eliminate false minutiae that connects broken curves in fingerprint due low finger pressure, cut, or presence of dust particles. Our work has combined many methods to build a minutia extractor and a minutia matcher. We use multiple fingerprint as input and apply the combination of multiple methods like segmentation using Binarization operations, improved thinning, Minutiae_Connect, Minutiae_Margin, Minutiae extraction, false minutiae removal methods, and minutiae matching in the unified x-y coordinate system after a twostep transformation are used in the work. .

Fingerprint Minutia Match Using Bifurcation Technique

A fingerprint is believed to be unique to each person and each finger. Fingerprints are one of the most full-grown biometric technologies and are used as proofs of evidence. A fingerprint consists of various types of minutiae and it is one of the most popular categories used in the fingerprint verification system. In this paper, a simple technique is proposed for fingerprint analysis using minu...

Fingerprint Identification and Verification System using Minutiae Matching

Fingerprints are the most widely used biometric feature for person identification and verification in the field of biometric identification. Fingerprints possess two main types of features that are used for automatic fingerprint identification and verification: (i) global ridge and furrow structure that forms a special pattern in the central region of the fingerprint and (ii) Minutiae details a...

Designing of Fingerprint Enhancement Based on Curved Region Based Ridge Frequency Estimation

Fingerprint enhancement algorithm is used to improve the clarity of ridges and valleys of input fingerprint images. These kind of algorithm make them more suitable for the minutiae extraction algorithm. The ultimate criterion for evaluating such an enhancement algorithm is the total amount of “quality” improvement when the algorithm is applied to the noisy input fingerprint images. There are va...

An Identity-Authentication System Using Fingerprints

Fingerprint verification is an important biometric technique for personal identification. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a prototype automatic identity-authentication system that uses fingerprints to authenticate the identity of an individual. We have developed an improved minutiae-extraction algorithm that is faster and more accurate than our earlier algorithm [58]...

Performance Analysis and Designing of Technique for Enhancement of Fingerprints based on the Estimated Local Ridge Orientation and Frequency

Fingerprint identification is a growing and popular biometric identification technology. It includes two steps one is fingerprint verification and other is fingerprint recognition. Both of them use minutiae, such as end points and bifurcation points, as features. Therefore, how to appropriately extract minutiae from fingerprint images becomes an important step in fingerprint identification. Ext...
