چکیده
A new macrocyclic complex DyCl3(LN5)·4H2O (1) has been prepared in which the Dy(III) ion is equatorially bound by an N5-donor macrocycle (LN5). Ac susceptibility data reveal slow relaxation of the magnetisation in zero field below 15 K with a distribution of relaxation rates.

Distinct magnetic dynamic behavior for two polymorphs of the same Dy(III) complex.
Two polymorphs of the same Dy(III) complex show distinct slow magnetic relaxation behaviors due to the different local environments of Dy(III) in the crystal. This work represents the first example where the magnetic dynamic property of neutral rare earth complexes could be tuned by growing polymorphic crystals without changing the ligand.

A luminescent trinuclear Dy(III) complex, in which the three Dy(III) centers with different geometries take a nearly linear disposition, shows the slow magnetic relaxation processes of single ion origin.
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of mono- and heterodinuclear complexes of dinucleating macrocyclic ligand bearing hexa- and pentadentate coordination sites
Macrocyclic heterobinuclear Zn(II)–Cu(II) complexes with phenol based dicompartmental ligands possessing contiguous hexa- and penta-coordination sites were prepared by a stepwise procedure. The ligands include similar N4O2 and dissimilar N(imine)3O2 and N(amine)3O2 coordination sites sharing two phenolic oxygen atoms. The six-coordination site comprises two pyridyl pendant arms on the amine nit...
متن کاملA half-sandwich organometallic single-ion magnet with hexamethylbenzene coordinated to the Dy(III) ion.
A half-sandwich organolanthanide complex, [(C6Me6)Dy(AlCl4)3], in which Dy(III) is coordinated with a π-bonded arene was synthesized and magnetically characterized. This complex displays slow magnetic relaxation and a hysteresis loop associated with single-ion magnet behavior. The orientation of the magnetic anisotropy axis is analyzed using ab initio calculations.
متن کاملHeterometallic thiacalix[4]arene-supported Na2Ni(II)12Ln(III)2 clusters with vertex-fused tricubane cores (Ln = Dy and Tb).
Two heterometallic thiacalix[4]arene-supported complexes possess a trinary-cubane core composed of one [Ni(2)Ln(2)] cubane unit and two [NaNi(2)Ln] cubane units sharing one Ln(III) ion (Ln = Dy and Tb). Only the Dy(III) complex exhibits slow magnetic relaxation behaviour of single molecule magnet nature.
