Optical conductivity of the Hubbard model at finite temperature.

چکیده
The optical conductivity, σ(ω), of the two dimensional one-band Hubbard model is calculated at finite temperature using exact diagonalization techniques on finite clusters. The in-plane d.c. resistivity, ρab, is also evaluated. We find that at large U/t and temperature T, ρab is approximately linear with temperature, in reasonable agreement with experiments on high-Tc superconductors. Moreover, we note that σ(ω) displays charge excitations, a mid-infrared (MIR) band and a Drude peak, also as observed experimentally. The combination of the Drude peak and the MIR oscillator strengths leads to a conductivity that decays slower than 1/ω at energies smaller than the insulator gap near half-filling.

Optical conductivity of the infinite-dimensional Hubbard model.
A Monte Carlo-maximum entropy calculation of the optical conductivity of the infinite-dimensional Hubbard model is presented. We show that the optical conductivity displays the anomalies found in the cuprate superconductors, including a Drude width which grows linearly with temperature, a Drude weight which grows linearly with doping, and a temperature and doping-dependent mid-IR peak. These an...

Results for the optical conductivity and resistivity of the Hubbard model in infinite spatial dimensions are presented. At half filling we observe a gradual crossover from a normal Fermi-liquid with a Drude peak at ω = 0 in the optical conductivity to an insulator as a function of U for temperatures above the antiferromagnetic phase transition. When doped, the “insulator” becomes a Fermi-liquid...
متن کاملOptical conductivity of a Hubbard ring with an impurity
We investigate the optical conductivity of a Hubbard ring in presence of an impurity by means of exact diagonalization using the Lanczos algorithm. We concentrate thereby on the first excited, open shell state, i.e. on twisted boundary conditions. In the metallic phase a substantial part of the spectral weight lies in the Drude peak, σ(ω) = Dcδ(ω)+σreg . In the non-interacting system, the Drude...
متن کاملEffects of magnetic ordering on the anisotropy and temperature dependence of the optical conductivity in LaMnO3: A tight-binding approach
A tight-binding parametrization of the band structure, along with a mean-field treatment of the Hund, electron-electron, and electron-lattice couplings, is used to obtain the full optical conductivity tensor of LaMnO3 as a function of temperature. We predict striking changes with temperature in the functional form and magnitude of the optical absorption. Comparison of our results with existing ...
متن کاملInteraction quench in the Hubbard model: Relaxation of the spectral function and the optical conductivity
We use nonequilibrium dynamical mean-field theory in combination with a recently developed Quantum Monte Carlo impurity solver to study the real-time dynamics of a Hubbard model which is driven out of equilibrium by a sudden increase in the on-site repulsion U. We discuss the implementation of the selfconsistency procedure and some important technical improvements of the QMC method. The exact n...
