A New Rhodonite Occurrence in the Cassiar Area, Northern British Columbia
نویسنده
چکیده
argillite, interbedded basalt and abundant diabase sills. More specifically, the rhodonite is located above a section of grey, black and pale green chert and argillite at the base of the unit [IIPPvs( I ) on Figure 2-15-21 and about 50 metres below an upper section of brightly coloured, maroon, red, green and grey chert and argillite [Unit IIPPvs(2) on Figure 2-15-21, This stratigraphic position holds over at least 4 kilometres strike length, as shown by the two cross-sections in Figure 2-15-3. The immediate host of the rhodonite is well-bedded grey to pale green radiolarian chert with argillite partings. Geological Fieldwork 1989, Paper 1990-1 I-IPPvS ” IIMvs 4

This report describes a new pyroxmangite-rhodonite occurrence visited briefly by the authors as part of a broader study o,f gemstones in British Columbia. The discovery is on the Cl-t claims, 1.5 kilometres northwest of Mount Roderick Dhu (lat. 49”12’, long. 118’37’), 13 kilometres northeasi of Greenwood (Figure 1). Rhodonite is a manganiferous semiprecious stone valued for its pink to deep red...

This report describes a new mapping project in the Cassiar Mountains, located 70 kilometres northeast of Dease Lake in northern British Columbia. The area is attractive for two reasons. First, it contains rocks that are likely correlative with those of the Yukon-Tanana Terrane, a tract with known volcanogenic massive sulphide potential. Second, combined geological and regional geochemical data ...

The olenelloid trilobite genus Laudonia Harrington, 1956 was thought to occur widely along the Cordilleran margin of Laurentia in lowermost Dyeran strata (Cambrian Series 2). However, supposed occurrences in the Rosella Formation (Cassiar Mountains, northern British Columbia), the Mural Formation (Cariboo Mountains, east-central British Columbia) and the Poleta Formation (Nevada)--re-examined, ...

The Late Devonian to Early Mississippian is an important metallogenic epoch within the Canadian cordillera resulting in the production of significant sediment exhalative massive sulphide (SEDEX) and volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineral occurrences within rocks of cratonic or pericratonic affinity. Major belts include the Late Devonian Earn-hosted SEDEX deposits of the Selwyn and Gataga d...
